Ministry of Water Resources: By 2035, a complete water conservancy remote sensing satellite application system will be basically in place

The Ministry of Water Resources recently issued the overall development plan for water conservancy remote sensing satellite applications (2026–2035). It will advance the construction of four major systems—coordinated development of water conservancy remote sensing satellite resources, data resources, business applications, and technical innovation and technical standards—to effectively expand satellite resources. By 2030, a water conservancy remote sensing satellite application system covering major business areas will be initially formed. By 2035, a comprehensive water conservancy remote sensing satellite application system will basically be in place, with significantly improved sub-meter resolution imagery coverage capabilities, further enhancing rapid monitoring capabilities for major water conservancy emergency events.
