An Amazon subsidiary is finalizing a licensing agreement with InterDigital that will address patent infringement allegations targeting Amazon Fire TV devices. On Thursday, a judge approved a joint motion from InterDigital and Amazon Services LLC to pause this lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware while the parties move forward with the agreement. The arbitration agreement reached on July 6 required both sides to apply for this stay. InterDigital sued Amazon in November last year, alleging that its Fire TV devices and other video streaming hardware infringe five patents covering video processing and compression technologies.
