It’s fair to ask whether the market is functioning the way it’s supposed to.
That’s not necessarily a criticism of every landlord or every housing voucher.
It’s a broader question about incentives.
When both tenants and property owners become increasingly dependent on public subsidies to make the numbers work, it may point to deeper affordability problems in the housing market.
At some point, we have to ask:
Are we solving the housing crisis or just subsidizing its symptoms?
