Investment psychology | You think you’re waiting for confirmation, but you might just be waiting for a sense of safety

Many people say:

“I’ll buy once the market clearly confirms a reversal.”

It sounds reasonable.

But the problem is that when the market truly fully confirms the reversal, the price is usually already up quite a bit from the lows.

Because the market won’t give you a heads-up:

“It’s safe now, you can enter.”

When everyone is certain that the market looks good, the risk hasn’t disappeared—it’s just that everyone temporarily doesn’t want to look at it.

So the hardest part of investing isn’t knowing when to buy.

It’s accepting one thing:

You can never buy the best price with zero risk.
