“The Big Short” Michael Burry is reportedly increasing his short bets on Micron $MU and Nvidia $NVDA

According to reports from foreign media, “The Big Short” Michael Burry continues to short Micron MU, Nvidia NVDA, and other semiconductor companies.

In a Substack post, Burry said he:

further added to his short position in Micron Technology (MU.O) at the $933.86 level,
and increased his short position in Nvidia (NVDA.O) at the $210.28 level.
Burry also further shorted Caterpillar (CAT.N) at $893.49,
and increased his short position in the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) at $535.83.

Comment: If the next financial storm is going to sweep the globe, then this is where the story of high-priced semiconductor stocks ends—the main force is about to push from here.

If this shorting move succeeds, then the Micron and Nvidia story is truly over; the main players will liquidate and reshuffle, and retail investors should be careful not to catch a thrown knife.

Shorting semiconductors isn’t something that’s been going on for just a day or two, but when a top-tier player like Burry increases his short position, you have to be a bit alert.

Burry has struck again—the semiconductor stocks at these high levels really should pull back.
