Gold is caught in a consolidation tug-of-war! Understand the two core logics for both bulls and bears

Overall trend: After a round of deep pullback in the early stage, it rebounded strongly after bottoming out; the price surged up into the yellow supply range above and then faced rejection and pulled back. It is currently in a consolidation phase after the rebound, digesting the move.
On the chart you can see: there is an order block (OB) supply area at the top (yellow box), there is a demand-acceptance OB blue zone at the bottom, and a FVG gap remains in the middle—these are key market-structure points to watch.

【Key Levels】
Resistance: 4064.51 / 4081.58 / 4101.83 / 4130
Support: 4061.97 / 4040 / 4015 / 3980

🟢 Long idea
On a pullback to the 4061.97~4040 area, if a reduced-volume reversal/stop signal appears, go long at a low entry—no chasing. Targets: 4081 and 4101. Place a strict stop loss.

🔴 Short idea
On a rebound into the 4081~4101.83 supply zone, if a long upper wick and sluggish/ranging delay pattern forms, try short with a small position. If 4061 is broken down effectively, add to the short in line with the move, with the downside targeting 4040 support.

The rebound in gold this round is pretty strong, but if it can’t break above 4101, the bearish (downward) trend will still prevail.

This 4061 support is crucial; if it breaks, you’ll need to watch 4040. However, the FVG gap below may provide support.

Good analysis—let’s try shorting along with it.

The pressure from the overhead supply zone is clear, but the demand below is also not weak. In a ranging market, it’s best to wait for clear signals before entering; otherwise it’s easy to get hit from both sides. Thanks for sharing.

I’m a bit torn—feels like it’s hard to play both sides, whether long or short. Better to wait and observe.
