At 12:40 on the 26th, the Hong Kong Observatory changed to issue a No. 3 strong wind signal. The Observatory said that Typhoon “Huxia” is moving into inland Guangdong and will gradually move away from Hong Kong, and that Hong Kong’s winds are expected to weaken somewhat. The Hong Kong Observatory issued a Tropical Cyclone Warning at 22:10 on the 25th for a No. 8 northwest gale or storm signal, then changed at 1:10 on the 26th to issue a Tropical Cyclone Warning for a No. 9 gale or storm signal. It further changed at 7:10 on the 26th to issue a Tropical Cyclone Warning for a No. 8 southwest gale or storm signal. The Observatory said that as a result of the strong rainbands on the periphery of “Huxia,” Hong Kong will still experience squally winds, heavy downpours and thunderstorms on the 26th, with very large waves and swells at sea as well.
