Korean pension funds turned net buyers on the KOSPI for the first time this year, heavily weighting SK Hynix.

Mars Finance news: On July 26, data from South Korean exchanges showed that pension funds, including the National Pension Service (NPS), one of South Korea’s largest institutional investors in the stock market, switched to net buying in the South Korean stock market for the first time this month. Exchange data showed that, as of July 24, the National Pension Service and other pension funds had accumulated net buying of KRW 68.4 billion (about $46.8 million) worth of KOSPI Index constituent stocks in South Korea since July this year. This is the first time this year they have achieved net buying in a single month after six consecutive months of net selling. Looking at individual stocks, SK Hynix was the most bought stock by pension funds since July, with net buying totaling KRW 425.8 billion. (Jin Shi)
