Data: Cryptocurrency remittances from El Salvador account for only 0.7% of the total, but grew 39.1% year-over-year.

Mars Finance news, according to News.bitcoin, based on data released by the Central Bank of El Salvador, in the first half of 2026, only $35.4 million in external remittances were sent into the country via digital currency channels. This figure accounts for just 0.7% of the country’s total inbound remittance funds in 2026 (over $5 billion). Even so, the number of crypto remittances remains far higher than in the first half of 2025, when crypto remittances totaled $25.4 million, up 39.1%.
