A fellow driver drove a Zeekr 9X on a self-driving trip to Europe for a trip, but ended up entering Kazakhstan. The vehicle was remotely restricted due to safety protection mechanisms. Multiple functions such as navigation, storage compartments, the fuel tank cap, and more could not be used, with only basic driving capability remaining. It lasted for more than 30 hours.
The owner said that before departure he went to a store for maintenance and informed them of his plan to exit the country, but received no relevant risk alerts.
Zeekr’s official account also acknowledged the issue; afterward, it will add a one-tap self-service unlock entry called “Cross-border Guardian” in the app.
