ChatGPT is now starting to read medical records.

You’re not being asked to take pictures of the check-up reports one by one. U.S. users can now directly connect Apple Health, hospital medical records, and One Medical, and view everything together—including sleep, exercise, medications, and lab results. You can also compare new reports with previous data.
My first reaction to this feature is that it’s convenient.
My second reaction is: have I just handed over the most sensitive things in my life to a chat box?
OpenAI says these materials won’t be used to train the model or run ads, and it will ask you by default before accessing them. But after you disconnect, synced materials take up to 30 days to be deleted; and anything that has already appeared in the chat history still needs you to delete it yourself.
In the future, having it organize your medical history before a visit and list your problems should be really useful. Just let it replace the doctor’s conclusion—why not?
At that time, will a bunch of people end up like, after googling their symptoms, they discover they have an incurable cancer too?🤣
