So many people are coming to Yunnan! You really can’t help but say it’s because of Yunnan’s natural geographical advantages. It’s been around 20+° year-round—if you come in summer, it’s absolutely a hill station style escape. And now is also the season for eating fungi—definitely you must try a mushroom hot pot.

A few days ago I went to Chengdu. When I went out, the temperature was 39°. What greeted you outside wasn’t good vibes—it was heat waves! After getting back to Kunming, I found the weather here is really great—so enjoyable that you don’t even feel like working. Indoors you don’t need to turn on the air conditioner at all. During the day it’s only 21–24°, and at night the temperature drops to 17°. Wear a short-sleeve shirt to go out and it still feels cold. Even when sleeping you have to cover with a thick blanket.

Besides Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang in Yunnan, I also recommend you go to Shilin, Baoshan, and Tengchong! They’re great places to visit too. Thai-style barbecue, tilapia, rice noodles, rice cakes (饵丝), beef, and preserved pork ribs are all pretty good—once you’re here, you have to give them a try.
