Just spotted that new Claude Opus 5 product that just arrived on the API, guys. Lately these AI dev teams have been shipping releases nonstop for real—reading the spec, it’s pretty exciting.
With Opus 5 this time, it opens the context window all the way up to 1M tokens, and output tokens can go up to a maximum of 128K. These kinds of massive specs—handing it long-winded project code tasks or tackling complex reasoning tasks—should feel smooth, and it’ll significantly reduce the whole thing where things break mid-run or go off-track like some older versions.
Another big win is that it handles more agentic coding tasks, clearly outperforming—by itself it explores a broad codebase, then fixes bugs smoothly. It also knows how to dynamically adjust the depth of its thinking depending on the task: easy ones, it skims through quickly; hard ones, it takes time to chew carefully before giving the result. On top of that, its performance is close to the top-tier lineup, and the usage fee—supposedly—drops to half.
It can run through both the Official API and the Custom Provider Mode too. These days devs can optimize costs to their heart’s content because using the Custom Provider can cut costs by up to 40%. If you’re currently grinding on apps, building automated bots, or working on an AI product, take a look and try it out—save some extra money, and keep more capital in your pocket to fund operations.
