Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 26, according to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung said, “South Korea and the United States should expand the scope of cooperation. It should not be limited only to the long-standing security alliance; it should also cover technology, innovation, and the startup and early-stage company sector.”

He emphasized that combining the US’s world-class venture capital capabilities and global network with South Korea’s advanced technological strength and manufacturing competitiveness will create a new batch of global innovation companies. Lee Jae-myung also called on US venture capital firms to strengthen cooperation and expand investment in South Korea, while pledging to build one of the most attractive investment and startup environments in the world.

He said that South Korea will reform its visa system to better attract overseas entrepreneurial talent, while laying the groundwork for a cooperative ecosystem among domestic and international companies, research institutions, and investors. He also pledged to help South Korean startups grow into globally competitive companies by connecting funds managed by both the public and the government.
