Why I Stopped Chasing Green Candles (And Started Reading the Room Instead)

Three months ago I made a mistake a lot of us make: I bought BTC because it was pumping, not because I understood why. It cost me. So I changed my approach, and I want to share what's actually working.

1. Volume tells the truth, price tells a story.
Price can be manipulated short-term. Volume can't lie the same way. When I see a breakout with weak volume, I wait. When volume confirms the move, that's when I size in.

2. Correlation is your early warning system.
Watch how crypto reacts when US stocks (especially tech/Nasdaq) move. Right now we're seeing tighter correlation between BTC and risk assets than during the "digital gold" narrative years. That tells you macro liquidity — not crypto-specific news — is driving a lot of this cycle.

3. Prediction markets are underrated research tools.
Beyond betting, they're a sentiment gauge. If prediction market odds shift before mainstream news catches up, that's often smart money positioning early.

4. HK stocks are quietly interesting right now.
Valuations remain compressed relative to US peers. Worth watching for anyone diversifying beyond pure crypto exposure.

The lesson: trade the data, not the dopamine.
