The part that left the deepest impression on me from this trade isn’t that last move from 76861.4 down to 64245, but the earlier seemingly directionless grind. After repeatedly probing at high levels, there was still no effective follow-through. I remember thinking the bulls were increasingly hard-pressing, so I chose to stand on the side of the shorts, ultimately ending with a +2853.93% result.

When I first got on board, I was actually pretty uneasy. The price didn’t drop right away—instead, it repeatedly poked higher with a few upward pinpricks, and naturally I started to doubt my judgment. Fortunately, I didn’t get stirred up by the short-term fluctuations. I waited until the rebound was weaker and weaker each time; only when the sell-off pressure finally caught up did the market truly start to loosen.

In situations like this, many retail traders are most likely to chase orders. When it falls, they want to bottom-fish, and in the end they get washed out on both sides. For me, being able to read the false moves within weakness—and keeping my hands under control—is more important than merely catching a stretch of decline.
