That quick drop just finally tore off the “cover” on the board. When the market was sold off early in the morning, $ETH was still probing around the high end repeatedly. On the surface it looked like building up power, but in reality every time it surged upward there wasn’t sustained buy pressure. The moment the price touched a key level, it was pulled back. What I saw was insufficient support, not a strong breakout.
I was watching the ETH timing, and around 2118.05 I executed a long entry. The logic was simple: if the rebound isn’t smooth, volume isn’t keeping up, and sell pressure overhead is heavy, then don’t chase that false sense of strength. Now the price is at 1874.86, and the short position has already paid out +1067.5%—this profit is pretty much safely captured.
Close 80% first. Move the protection level for the remaining 20% to around breakeven. If it keeps pressing down, let the profit run; even if it bounces back, don’t spit out what you’ve already taken. Profit isn’t about greedily grabbing the very last bite—getting it into your wallet is the real win.
If you missed this leg, don’t rush to add tickets. Chasing orders makes it easy to get stuck at the top of the mountain. Have a plan before the session, stay disciplined during the session. When the next round shows a clear structure, then move—there will be opportunities. Don’t be in a hurry.
