You know what bothers me about modern life?

It feels like we’re slowly losing the ability to actually own things.
You used to buy software once.
Microsoft Office could cost around $150 as a one-time purchase.
Now, Microsoft 365 can cost around $10 a month.
You used to buy a movie.
Now you might pay $15–$25 a month for Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and other streaming services.
Music?
$11–$12 a month.
Cloud storage?
Another $3–$10 a month.
Software?
Another $10–$50+ a month.
Even some cars are starting to lock certain features behind monthly subscriptions.
It feels like we’re moving from a world where you buy something and own it…
To a world where you rent access to everything forever.
And the frustrating part?
You don’t notice how expensive it is until you add it all up.
$10 here.
$15 there.
$20 somewhere else.
Suddenly, you’re spending $200–$500+ every month just to maintain access to the digital lifestyle you’ve already built.
That’s $2,400–$6,000 a year.
Maybe the future isn’t about owning more.
Maybe it’s about subscribing to everything.
And honestly…
I’m not sure that’s progress.
