According to Coin World News, Dogecoin (DOGE) saw its spot trading volume surge by more than 123% in the past 24 hours, reaching approximately $219 million. Futures trading volume also hit about $1.5 billion. Despite the fact that DOGE’s price is still near multi-month lows, the marked increase in trading activity suggests that traders are becoming more active around the current support zone. Although the technical charts still show a negative trend, DOGE’s price is currently around $0.069 and remains significantly below the 26-day, 50-day, and 100-day exponential moving averages.

When I see this data, my first reaction is that the main players are accumulating at the bottom, but on second thought, Dogecoin’s supply is essentially infinite, so the cost of running a pump is far too high. The spike in trading volume might just be a false boom caused by contract liquidations—$200 million worth of spot volume in the crypto space is really nothing. Just be patient and wait for the truly real reversal signals.

This kind of volume-price divergence has happened several times in Dogecoin’s history. Each time, it’s a short-term sentiment impulse, and then it continues to drift lower. Technically, all EMA moving averages are being suppressed; even 0.07 can’t hold steady. Don’t expect a single big bullish candle to change anyone’s conviction. It’s better to wait for a breakout above 0.075 on increased volume before considering entry—going in now is catching a falling knife.

Why hasn’t Musk come out to shout trades anymore? Without him backing it up, dog coins are just a dead pond—no matter how big the trading volume is, it’s just retail traders hyping themselves up.

Even though the trading volume has doubled, it looks impressive, but the price hasn’t really moved much—could it be big players flipping and distributing their holdings? Be careful about chasing; you might get buried.

Rises in volume with no increase in price—I've seen this script before.
