AI glasses looked like a geek toy a few years ago, but now they finally seem to be starting to enter everyday life.
This time, Samsung didn’t try to force a trendy “潮牌” vibe. Instead, it partnered directly with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker for the designs. Both pairs of glasses include built-in cameras, run on Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1, and connect to Gemini and Android XR. Battery life lasts up to 9 hours, and the charging case can top up with more than 7 full charges.
Their practical uses aren’t just for taking photos: they can automatically organize what you see on a whiteboard into Samsung Notes, navigate while you walk, provide real-time translation, summarize long messages, and even share the exact scene in front of you directly with the person you’re on a call with.
I think this is far more important than just stuffing another AI button into a phone. Phone AI still has to wait for you to open an app, while the glasses can see what you’re seeing right away. The “entry points” are on completely different levels.
The only question is—
When every person on the street has a camera on their face, does the person next to them really have the right to choose not to be recorded? The product is becoming more and more like normal glasses. In the future, there will be more and more people wearing cameras on their faces XD
