CICC Wealth Futures: Loose supply is gradually becoming the market’s biggest expectation, and the lithium carbonate price trend remains consistently weak

In the short term, the supply-demand relationship for lithium carbonate is relatively good, but expectations of future capacity expansion dominate the market. In summary: “Australia resumes production, Africa begins production, and salt lake output remains high.” At present, growing expectations that supply will be loose are becoming the biggest view in the market. The lithium carbonate price trend remains persistently weak, but it is not advisable to short at current levels because there is also a possibility that incremental production from the supply side will fall short of expectations. In the short term, it is recommended to stay on the sidelines and closely monitor lithium carbonate supply-side conditions. (CITIC Wealth Futures)
