Kuwait Signs Record $16B Pipeline Deal with Blackstone, Brookfield & KKR
Kuwait has secured its largest ever foreign investment deal, signing a $16 billion pipeline infrastructure agreement with Blackstone, Brookfield, and KKR as it accelerates efforts to attract global capital.
Key points:
• Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) signed a 20.5 year lease and leaseback agreement covering its 320 km crude oil pipeline network. • Blackstone, Brookfield, and KKR will collectively acquire a 49% stake, while Kuwait Oil Company retains 51% ownership and full operational control. • The transaction is expected to generate $7.85 billion in upfront proceeds to fund future energy investments and expand oil production capacity. • Known as "Project Peregrine," the deal is the largest foreign investment in Kuwait's history and reflects growing institutional demand for strategic energy infrastructure.
The agreement highlights a broader trend across the Gulf, where governments are unlocking capital from critical infrastructure while maintaining long term operational control.
