Investment Psychology: Do you see bad news, or did you already want to sell?

This is a question well worth thinking about.

When you want to sell a coin, it’s usually easy to find reasons that support your decision.

If it drops, you’ll say the fundamentals have worsened.

If it rises, you’ll say this is just a rebound.

When you see ETF outflows, you think institutions don’t have confidence.

When you see ETF inflows, you think this is only short-term speculation.

Sometimes, we’re not analyzing the market—we’re just looking for reasons to justify our own emotions.

So before making a decision, you can ask yourself:

If I didn’t currently hold this asset, would I still choose to buy it?

This question is often more honest than “Should I sell or not right now?”
