Mars Finance news: On July 25, well-known analyst PlanB spoke out against the Bitcoin BIP-110 proposal: “I oppose the BIP-110 fork. In my view, the supporters of the fork don’t truly understand three points. Bitcoin is a decentralized, anonymous asset; Bitcoin enthusiasts hate spam more than they do; and why the previous BCH fork failed. BIP-110 is a temporary soft-fork proposal that plans to add seven consensus restrictions during an approximately one-year validity period, including limiting the length of new script public keys, certain portions of pushed data and the size of witness items, disabling some Taproot extension paths, etc., to greatly reduce arbitrary non-payment data that can be embedded in transactions, such as inscriptions and runes, thereby lowering node load, suppressing junk data, and making Bitcoin more focused on its monetary use. BIP-110 currently has only about a 1% miner support rate, far below the 55% required to pass; with the outlook dim, it is almost impossible for it to become an official rule on the Bitcoin main chain. The final outcome will be revealed around the time the mandatory signaling window opens, roughly between August 7 and 8.”
