Markets Face a Defining Week as Bitcoin Holds Near $64K

The first night in nearly two weeks passed without reported US strikes on Iran, offering a brief pause in geopolitical tensions. However, risks remain elevated as Red Sea shipping disruptions continue, tanker incidents persist, and any weakness in oil prices could prove temporary.
The macro picture has also shifted.
US jobless claims fell to their lowest level in almost 60 years, reinforcing the strength of the labor market and giving the Federal Reserve little reason to soften its stance ahead of the upcoming FOMC meeting.
Bitcoin continues to trade around $64K, holding above its long-term support while stablecoin inflows remain subdued, suggesting fresh capital is still waiting on the sidelines.
At the same time, progress on the CLARITY Act has slowed before Congress' August recess, leaving regulatory uncertainty in focus.
Mining data points to another small decline in Bitcoin mining difficulty, reflecting the continued migration of some mining capacity toward AI and high-performance computing.
The AI sector is also attracting enormous institutional capital. Nvidia's multi-year partnership with SK Hynix, new data center investments, and expansion into Korean cloud infrastructure highlight where long-term investment is increasingly flowing.
Despite the cautious market, several altcoins significantly outperformed:

$EUL : +51%
$PROM : +32%
This week brings together multiple market drivers at once: geopolitics, the FOMC decision, labor market data, crypto regulation, mining trends, AI investment, and liquidity conditions.
If the Fed maintains a hawkish tone while geopolitical uncertainty persists, volatility could increase. If conditions improve, Bitcoin may gain the momentum needed to challenge higher resistance.
Will Bitcoin defend the $64K region through FOMC week, or is another liquidity sweep still ahead?
