Cook has applied to procure chips from China’s Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) and ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) for overseas versions of its products. 😂

Micron (Micron) became immediately furious on the spot, warning that this would directly eliminate the last U.S. storage-chip giant.
Over the past year, storage-chip prices have risen 4 times, and Micron has devoted most of its production capacity to higher-profit AI data centers, with its gross margin surging to more than 80%.
As profits in consumer electronics are squeezed, Apple has directly accused Micron of maliciously raising prices, attempting to use China’s supply chain to undermine the bargaining power of domestic suppliers.
It used to be geopolitical decoupling; now, for their own profit margins, big firms are proactively asking to dismantle trade barriers and buy Chinese-made products.
