Did nothing at all—came back with a cup of water, and the chart already tore the “face” off the high. When the sell-off hit in the early session, the rebound of $ETH was clearly lacking in strength; every time it tried to probe upward, it got pushed back down. ETH also didn’t show any decent support. My judgment was simple then: the trading volume was low, the rally lacked confidence, and the “baiting for longs” flavor was too strong. So around 2118.05, I followed the rhythm and opened longs, without chasing those few fake pumps.
Now the price is at 1857.51, and the short re-trade result is +1143.47%. This move answered things very directly.
First take 80% off the table, keep the remaining 20% in the market, and move the protection level to around your cost. If the sell-off continues, let the profits run a bit longer; even if there’s a bounce and pullback, still hold onto the portion that’s already been realized.
Even if you only make one percent—if you can take it away, then it’s yours. No matter how much floating profit you have, it’s only what the screen is temporarily giving. For friends who haven’t gotten in yet: take my advice—don’t chase trades in this sharp sell-off. Wait for the next shot, which will feel better.
