The way Korean stocks fell yesterday was really a bit like an exchange just unplugged the power cable.

KOSPI closed down 5.72%, and during the session it triggered the sell-side “sidecar” mechanism again.
SK hynix closed down 8.34%, Samsung Electronics closed down 7.59%. Even 7709, which had been going long on SK hynix at twice the leverage, got dragged down to -12.83%.
Suddenly I understand the mental state of my Korean friends lately.
Honestly, I’d recommend that Korean brokerages just shut down leverage.
Otherwise, this isn’t stock trading—this is a Super Mario jump-jump machine.
Either take off, or “take off.”
