Goldman Sachs’ primary brokerage business unit said that over the past two months, hedge funds exited US technology stocks at a record-fast pace. The team led by Vincent Lin analyzed that, for six of the past eight weeks, these funds were net sellers in the sector. The cumulative reduction in market capitalization was about 10%, the highest since the data began being tracked more than a decade ago. The unit said: “With the semiconductor/storage/AI infrastructure sector continuing to churn and being heavily dumped, the persistence and scale of selling since early June indicate that technology investors have cut positions significantly, and some signs of capitulation are also starting to appear.” (Jiemian News)
