Massive Whale Alert: $38.67M Leveraged Bitcoin Long Exposed!

The on-chain trackers have just flagged an incredibly aggressive move by a Bitcoin whale. According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, a major address went extremely heavy on leverage last night, aiming for a big bounce but they are already underwater.

The 40x Position Details
The Entry: At 10:30 p.m. last night, the whale opened a massive 40x leveraged long position on Bitcoin.
The Size: They committed 603.71 BTC, giving the position a staggering notional value of roughly $38.67 million.
The Price: The average entry price sits at $64,469.
The Current Status: The market hasn't played along just yet. The position is currently sitting on an unrealized loss of about $259,000.

Catching the Dip? Limit Orders Exposed
Instead of backing down from the red PnL, this whale is aggressively trying to catch a deeper dip. On-chain data shows the same address has parked $31.44 million worth of limit long orders waiting in the $63,500 to $63,674 support range.
If the market drops into that zone and all those limit orders are filled, this whale's total long exposure to Bitcoin would skyrocket to a massive $70.11 million.

A Rare Change in Strategy?
What makes this trade fascinating is the whale's history. Data shows this specific address typically operates as a short-term scalper, usually holding trades for only a few hours. However, this current long position is already their sixth-largest of the year. If their remaining limit orders trigger, it will officially become their absolute largest Bitcoin long trade of 2026.

This whale maxed out the leverage and still held on hard—despite being down 40x with a floating loss of $260k, they didn’t run. They’re still placing orders at the bottom to buy. What a tough one.

It was always quick trades that would run for a few minutes, but this time they’re going for the sixth-largest position and adding to it—does that mean they think the bottom is in? Their gambling instincts are pretty strong.

Entered at a 40x leverage position at 64,469; now I’m down more than $2,000 per BTC. It feels like to avoid liquidation, we’ll have to see whether the limit orders at 63,500 can hold up.
