Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: Expectations for tighter global supply are strengthening, and rapeseed prices continue to rise

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: This month’s forecast for China’s edible vegetable oil supply and demand for the 2026/2027 crop years remains consistent with last month. As of now, in the southern producing areas, the new-season rapeseed is being concentrated for market entry, with ample supply but quality variations—high-quality sources are in relatively short supply, and prices remain firm; sources of ordinary grades are sufficiently supplied, but distribution faces pressure. In the international market, Canada’s new-season rapeseed sowing progress is severely delayed due to weather, and Australia’s extreme heat and drought are unfavorable for crop growth. Expectations of a tighter global supply have increased, and rapeseed prices have continued to rise.
