If only looked at all these normal metrics, I’d be convinced the meta should already be dead.

– pumpfun graduation rates touched 0.2-0.3% earlier this year
– top launchpad traders hold for ~40 seconds
– only 0.41% of 13.55M wallets ever cleared $10k, 0.002% made $1M
Yet @Pumpfun still making $1.8M in daily fees, $800K in revenue, and did $89.5B lifetime DEX volume
We’re watching CT bros maxxing the PMF era while clicking buy on some random animal TikTok meme.
So why won't memes die? Because the PMF era is actually what's keeping them alive.
Every serious crypto sector invited itself to be judged like a real business.
Ppl are betting that revenue grows fast enough, token holders actually capture it, emissions don’t offset it, competitors don’t compress margins and the multiple doesn’t keep shrinking.
Once a token makes those promises, it also becomes possible for the market to prove the thesis wrong.
Memecoins never promised cash flow, an economy or anything else.
This sounds stupid until you realize how much of products that work still have tokens that don't. Product PMF and token PMF are two different games.
Users want the product cheaper. Token holders need it to somehow make the token go up. Those two incentives often don’t meet in the middle.
Meanwhile, for a memecoin, the product is owning it, talking about it, posting it and recruiting others into it.
Also why memes stay crypto's lowest-friction onramp.
Retail doesn't pick the highest quality asset. They often chooses the lowest comprehension cost with the fattest visible upside.
The thesis is basically that a tiny chance of a 100x feels psychologically more valuable than its expected value suggests.
Especially when the fundamental token has capped upside and still has 80% downside.
Doesn’t mean I’m saying dump all your utility coins and chase memes.
The casino itself isn’t healthy because supply has been commoditized close to infinity while attention remains finite.
$ANSEM, $CASHCAT, $Fefer everything on Solana, RH and Stable cannibalizing each other rn are live examples of this.
I’m just saying the trenches will always exist no matter what state crypto is in. But the meta is just going to bifurcate:
→ a shrinking, bot-dominated hyper-gambling layer where millions of interchangeable tokens fight for less and less attention.
→ a small group of blue-chip cult assets withrecognizable symbols, thick liquidity, shared belief that can reactivate when liquidity returns.
Both are competing to be crypto's simplest belief system. No product has replaced that yet.
