Mars Finance reports: On July 25, local time, the evening of July 24, US President Donald Trump attended the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Waldorf Hotel in Washington, DC (originally scheduled for April 25, but postponed to the present date due to an attack). Near the end of his speech, Trump put on a red “Trump 2028” hat and joked, “I’m very happy to announce my intentions—this is an exclusive scoop—I'm going to run for a fourth term as President of the United States, and I’m going to do it.” He then added, “It should be pretty easy. I’m getting better and better at running for president.” During this segment, Trump repeated his claim that he “actually won the 2020 election”—after which the media specifically noted in its coverage that “he did not win,” clarifying the inaccurate statement. Under the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution, a president may be elected for a maximum of two terms. Trump is currently serving his second term—which is also the last term allowed by the Constitution—so, in theory, he is not legally eligible to run for a “fourth term.”
