Jordan says it intercepted and shot down three missiles launched from Iran

According to a statement from Jordan’s Armed Forces General Command, on the evening of July 20 local time, Jordan’s air defense system intercepted and shot down three missiles entering Jordan’s airspace from Iran that had been fired at targets within Jordan. The statement said that the interception operation resulted in no casualties or property damage. Jordan’s Royal Engineers Corps has gone to the locations where the missile wreckage and debris fell to carry out disposal work, and is cleaning up the site and establishing security and warning measures in accordance with relevant technical and safety procedures. The statement added that Jordan’s armed forces will continue to closely monitor its airspace, maintain a high level of readiness, and will, under current rules, take action against any threats that endanger Jordan’s national security, sovereignty, and citizens’ safety.

Separately, according to information from Israel, residents in Eilat, a southern city in Israel, said that they heard explosions on the evening of the 20th local time. It is believed that the explosions may have been related to the missile attack on Jordan. (CCTV News)
