Odaily Planet Daily reports that GSR strategic communications director Frank Chaparro posted on X a chart from Apollo Global Management showing IPO investment returns. The chart presents, for U.S. stock IPOs listed between 1980 and 2024, the market-adjusted average return rate within 3 years after listing. The results show that IPO stocks generally underperform the broader market in the medium and long term after going public, and this phenomenon is especially pronounced from 2019 to 2024.

Frank Chaparro said: “Since 2019, participating in IPOs has been a losing bet.”
