Someone always says you can’t make money in the crypto market, but in reality there are people who build up their accounts slowly by discipline.
I have a real example right next to me: a total beginner who couldn’t even understand the candlestick chart at the start. He began with 1000U and, over the course of a few months, gradually grew his account to several ten thousand U.
When he found me at the beginning of the year, he barely had any concept of the market. He opened the trading screen and didn’t know how to read it, and even wondered whether these price moves were a scam. He only had 1000U, and every time he got ready to place an order, he was extremely nervous—afraid that one wrong move would wipe out his principal completely.
But later, his change wasn’t because he suddenly learned some advanced technique. It was because he built a simple, strict way of executing.
First, money management always comes first.
He split the 1000U directly into multiple portions and used a fixed percentage of capital for each trade. Many people think this is too slow to make money, but he believes that as long as the principal isn’t consumed all at once, there will always be opportunities to keep participating in the market. $DEXE
Second, he only takes trades that meet the conditions.
He doesn’t look for opportunities every day, and he isn’t pulled along by all kinds of news. Instead, he only focuses on the signals he’s familiar with. If the conditions aren’t fully met, even if he misses the move, he won’t force an entry.
Third, execution discipline is like a machine.
Before opening a position, he sets stop-loss and take-profit in advance. When the loss reaches the preset level, he exits; when the profit reaches the target, he cashes out in batches. At the beginning, when he executed stop-losses, he also hesitated—but after going through it a few times, he understood that admitting a mistake in time isn’t scary. What’s truly dangerous is stubbornly holding onto hope with a “maybe it’ll turn” mindset.
After he becomes profitable, he also doesn’t suddenly increase his position size. Instead, he rolls forward part of the profits, letting the capital grow slowly over time.
Besides that, he avoids periods when news is concentrated and volatility is abnormal, and only trades the market moves he can understand.
In the end, he isn’t smarter than others by much, and he doesn’t get every call right. What he does is repeat simple rules.
Many people lose money not because they don’t have opportunities, but because they can’t persist with the right method.
In trading, what ultimately matters isn’t how complex the technique is, but whether you can maintain self-discipline in the long run.
