Trump Threatens EU With Massive Tariffs, Demands Withdrawal of Fines Imposed on U.S. Companies

July 25 report: U.S. President Trump: The EU is back again—and as usual, directly targeting the great American companies! After imposing, without any reason, a $15 billion fine on Apple, a $3 billion fine on Meta, a $2.5 billion fine on Amazon, and penalties on many other companies, we have just learned that Google—a truly advanced and astonishing company—has been fined $1 billion again, with no explanation whatsoever. This brings Google’s total fines to more than $18 billion! This illegal and highly discriminatory practice has reached such an extent during the first year of the “Sleepy Joe” (Biden) administration, but this will not continue under the Trump administration. The United States is not Europe’s “cash machine,” and we won’t allow it to become one! We hereby make clear that we will immediately launch a Section 301 investigation into this “predatory” behavior that harms American taxpayers’ interests. The EU will pay a very high price for this illegal and extremely immoral conduct—the exact kind of thing I have been warning them not to do. These fines will be fully withdrawn, and at the same time, we expect to impose massive tariffs on them within the shortest possible time.
