Coinbase rolls out AI agent USDC payment functionality to more than 5,000 business customers
Coinbase Business launched in June 2025 and has signed around 5,000 customers, with cumulative payment and trading volume of about $1 billion. Businesses using the service can earn a 3.35% incentive on eligible idle USDC balances, and early use cases have mainly focused on digital services such as APIs, cloud storage, and domain names.
Coinbase has also added real-time trading features to Coinbase for Agents, allowing AI agents to monitor unfilled orders, view market depth, and track real-time prices and trading volume. Users can also set conditions using natural language, and the related actions remain subject to user-defined restrictions.
