The trade that left the deepest impression on me wasn’t how far it dropped in the end, but the fact that even though I got the direction right, I almost didn’t manage to hold it. After a string of rallying pull-ups at the highs, the price around 0.02762 saw a spike followed by a pullback. It looked pretty lively on the surface, but the bids proved weaker wave after wave.
When I first started shorting, I wasn’t at peace in my heart, because a few upward pokes above kept looking like they were going to keep pushing up. Later, the rebounds never managed to break through the key level, and the selling pressure kept coming back. That’s when I confirmed this wasn’t ordinary consolidation—this was the longs starting to loosen up, and I wasn’t going to be led around by a fake breakout anymore.
From 0.02762 to 0.01329, I’m recording this outcome as +1272.25%. Handling it in 80/20 batches made the exit rhythm more comfortable, and the protection level also prevented me from temporarily changing my plan due to one or two quick counter-rally rebounds.
A lot of retail traders aren’t incapable of judging, but before the market shows it, their mindset breaks first. In the crypto market, profits are often hiding in the waiting. After this bearish move played out, I’d rather respect that pressure at the highs than see a brief rally and chase longs.
