In a report from Mars Finance, on July 25, Anthropic released its new-generation AI model, Claude Opus 5, saying the model’s ability to find network security vulnerabilities is nearly on par with the company’s more advanced Mythos 5 model. Anthropic said that Claude Opus 5 is a general-purpose model that achieves improvements in tasks such as self-checking work, scientific research, and code optimization. The company stated that although the model’s vulnerability-finding ability is close to Mythos 5, it is still “clearly behind” in actually exploiting those vulnerabilities. In addition, Anthropic emphasized that Claude Opus 5 performs close to its most advanced Fable 5 model across multiple capability categories, but its cost is only about half that of the latter, and it is expected to become the default choice for enterprises handling everyday office tasks. As companies continue to pay close attention to the cost of AI investment, multiple AI companies—including OpenAI, Meta, and SpaceX AI—are accelerating their race to develop more cost-efficient models. Anthropic said that the market’s emphasis on AI cost-effectiveness and real-world application capability is continuously increasing.
