BlockBeats message, July 25, according to The New York Times, four people with knowledge of the matter said that on Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting with senior advisers and senior cabinet officials to discuss whether to further intensify military strikes against Iran.

The report said the meeting comes at a critical turning point in the U.S. policy toward Iran. Previously, both the fragile ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran and the memorandum of understanding aimed at bringing both sides back to the negotiating table and reaching a long-term nuclear nonproliferation deal had broken down.

Insiders said the Trump administration is currently assessing the direction of its next steps, including whether to escalate military operations targeting Iran.
