According to TRM Labs, the Council of the European Union on July 23 approved Round 21 of its sanctions package against Russia, expanding the transaction ban to 14 overseas crypto-related platforms and entities: Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, Exnode / Exnode Pay, EXMO, A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa, and PilotFinance. The targets involve Georgia, Panama, the UAE, the Marshall Islands, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus.

For the first time, the package also authorizes the EU to impose comprehensive restrictions on a country’s crypto-asset services when platforms within a third country help Russia evade sanctions. This round added 218 new sanctioned targets, the largest batch in nearly four years.
