I used to think DAO voting was just like giving a thumbs up or down—purely based on community consensus. But when I look at the incentive design in the proposals now, it’s almost like a game—staking weight, lockup rewards, anti-sybil thresholds; every step is quietly suggesting, “If you’ve got the ability, put in more, but don’t expect to easily arbitrage.” During the airdrop season, the task-platform points were being “farmed” as hard as if it were work, but on second thought, the power structure hidden in the proposals is actually more transparent: who is steering the governance token allocation, and who is controlling the voting thresholds—it’s all written into the code. Engineers can find it amusing; anyway, I’m too lazy to grind.
