Hey, lately I’ve been seeing the Layer 2 crowd arguing about TPS like it’s burning hot—like whoever is faster wins. But honestly, with cross-chain bridges, being fast doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe. With multi-signature, oracles, and all the other parts—if any step goes wrong, it can be the fate of having money go down the drain.
I’d rather wait a few more minutes for confirmation than take chances. A few days ago I tried a new bridge that said it would wait for 6 block confirmations, and I actually felt more at ease. After all, slow is fast—having the money in your own hands is stronger than anything else.
As for data, I trust it more. Things like total locked value, proposal frequency—those can show whether the team is seriously doing risk control or rushing to pump up volume. But intuition isn’t bad either: it helps me dodge bridges where on-chain activity suddenly turns abnormal, while the community keeps hyping it with fancy buzzwords.
Anyway, don’t rush cross-chain stuff. Wait those few minutes for confirmation—consider it buying yourself an insurance policy.
