Just saw another brother post a contract liquidation screenshot, and honestly I’m pretty helpless.

In the end, whether you can’t hold spot or you get liquidated on leveraged contracts, the underlying logic is the same: your position size exceeds what you can comfortably “sleep through.”

My crude rule of thumb is one sentence: “If you lose this money and you can still eat normally tomorrow, then this position is solid.”

On the other hand, if you’re staring at the K-line and your heart starts racing, waking up in the middle of the night to check it three times, that means your position is too heavy. Keep it light with spot— even if it drops 50%, you can still be happy and add more. Go heavy with contracts, and a single pullback can wipe you out to zero.

Recently, when I look at those new L1/L2 handing out incentives, the old-timers in the group all say “mine, then sell” is the real sweet spot—those who rush in to lock up end up losing. Really, it all comes down to whether the project’s timeline matches your own position rhythm; if it doesn’t, even the best project is useless.

Don’t think about getting rich in one shot—first make sure you can sleep easy. Harder than getting liquidated is when your mindset breaks and you keep all-in again and again. Yeah, I’ve said too much… that’s it for now.
