🇨🇳 Former Vice Chairman of the CSRC Fang Xinghai Under Review for Alleged Discipline and Law Violations


Fang Xinghai served as vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission for nearly 9 years. More than a month ago, he also appeared in public and said that a group of mainland quant institutions had already matched the international top tier.
A report published on the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission on Friday (July 24) said that Fang Xinghai, a former member of the Party Committee and vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing discipline review and supervision investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
At 62 years old this year, Fang Xinghai is from Yueqing, Zhejiang. He graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor’s degree, and subsequently obtained a master’s and a PhD in economics from Stanford University in the United States. He was once known as a staunch advocate of market reforms.
