CAN PAKISTAN TURN IDLE POWER INTO A BITCOIN RESERVE? 🇵🇰⛏️🏦
On 18 July 2026, Kazakhstan approved Strategic Digital Mining rules.
🔵 Strategic miners get electricity quotas at capped producer rates
🟡 They send a share of mined coins into the state (Astana Hub → National Bank investment arm)
🟢 That share builds a national strategic crypto reserve
Reports put the transfer near 10% of mined assets after electricity and grid costs. The rules take effect shortly after official publication.
Bhutan used the other model first: surplus hydropower (extra dam electricity the grid does not need) funded state-backed mining.
Arkham tracking once put the government stack near a peak of about 13,000 BTC (later sales reduced that pile).
Pakistan’s problem is not “no power.”
Capacity payments (money paid so plants stay ready, even when little electricity is used) hit about Rs 2.1 trillion in 2024 (IEEFA).
Installed capacity was about 46,605 MW in FY2024-25 (Economic Survey), with idle plants still billed to the system.
Circular debt was about Rs 1.835 trillion at end-June 2026.
Two models Pakistan can run alone or together

🟠 Do not spend any amount buying the reserve. Earn it from power Pakistan already pays for.
