#GUSDYieldRisesto3.8%

GUSD Upgrade: Get Paid to Hold Stablecoins Stablecoins continue to be on the rise with a GUSD upgrade to include 1:1 minting with USD. Use stablecoins for additional yields sourced from Real-World Assets in addition to income derived from the Gate ecosystem.

What is the new minting function for GUSD?

The GUSD Stablecoin is US Treasury backed & its yield is derived from the US Treasury RWA and Gate ecosystem revenue.

You will now receive 3.8% annualized yield on GUSD holding & have compounding rewards deposited daily. Additionally, your GUSD will give you access to several other products in addition to LaunchPools such as Pre-IPOs and other wealth management.

Is the new minting function regulated?

Yes, by U.S Treasury Guidelines.

The GUSD is backed by USD by holding a sufficient supply of interest bearing Treasury securities.

Are there any risks?

Like any financial vehicle, do your own research.

1. Is there something better than stablecoins for an average individual (i.e.

One not seeking high risk, but a place for their excess usd), to receive an interest rate to earn income? 2. Alternatively, do you think that the average individual with more risk tolerance would chase the better yield?

Why and Why not?

It feels like the RWA concept is getting more and more popular. Stablecoins backed by U.S. Treasuries like GUSD are indeed more reliable than those purely algorithmic stablecoins. However, if ordinary people have a low risk tolerance, they may still find high-yield savings accounts more convenient and worry-free.

Compared with the meager interest you’d get from keeping money in a bank, GUSD’s yield is quite attractive, and it compounds every day—it's suitable for idle funds. But I still want to know what share of income Gate’s ecosystem accounts for; what if the ecosystem isn’t doing well?

A 3.8% annualized rate is indeed pretty good, but the risks of stablecoins can’t be ignored—especially regulatory changes and de-pegging risk. Regular people should still be cautious.
