Everyone was still cursing AI for burning money last night, and Nvidia turned around and sent Amkor an order worth $1.5 billion.
$AMKR After-hours it immediately jumped 17%.
Wow, this is pretty realistic.
The market talks about an AI bubble, but when you run into a company that can choke advanced packaging capacity, money runs faster than anyone else.
What Nvidia is doing now isn’t complicated: it needs to sell more GPUs—lock in the packaging slots in advance, so that later on the chips can’t be blocked at the very last step.
So the AI market isn’t dead; it’s just the playbook that’s changed.
Back then, if your name was associated with AI, it could go up.
Now you need to put contracts, orders, and capacity on the table—only then does the market recognize it.
Tonight I’m only watching one thing:
After $AMKR opens higher, can it hold most of the gap.
If it holds, it means that this $1.5 billion can genuinely translate into valuation; if it opens and tanks, then even a 17% after-hours surge is just a bunch of people fighting over the news.
Don’t blindly charge into this kind of spot.
Let the people who chased in last night tell us first: is this a new trend, or a pig slaughter scam.
