The Office of the United States Trade Representative announced on July 23 that, under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, it will impose 10% to 12.5% additional tariffs on 60 economic entities including the European Union, the United Kingdom, China, India, Canada, Japan, and South Korea to combat so-called forced labor violations.
The new tariffs will take effect on the 24th, replacing the temporary global import tariffs that are set to expire. 😃
